In just 4 years the Festival has become the Premier Motor & Leisure Event in the North of England.

The 2000 Festival attracted around 42,000 spectators who flocked to see a magnificent display of  2,300 vehicles spanning the last century.
There was something to suit all tastes, from the early pioneering days right up to the forefront of modern technology.
Motorcycles, Caravans, Armoured Vehicles, Fire Appliances, Heavy Goods, and Buses old and new.
Action activities ranged from Motocross and Trials to Drag Racing and Auto Tests.

As always in addition to the motor & leisure attractions, there was a variety of entertainment to suit all tastes, including Arts & Crafts, Public Service Displays, Helicopter Pleasure Flights, The Armed Forces and Fun Fair etc.
"if it's got wheels and an engine, it's bound to be at the Festival" - this makes it the "Mecca" for motor enthusiasts  of all ages.
