eurocar

Eurocar racing has been acclaimed as the most exciting and entertaining form of motor sport to hit the British circuits for many years;  Eurocar has captured the imagination of the race-going public by producing some of the closest and most action packed racing ever seen on UK circuits.

The 1999 Yorkshire Motor Festival was proud to have the local Arco Sponsored Eurocar Race Team of Outred & Harrison take part in the weekends activities which proved to be very popular with the local race fans.  The team put on "pit-lane wheel changing"  displays and did some breath taking runs on the Sprint Challenge Track.

Since its birth in 1994, Eurocar has progressed faster than any other new form of motorsport. The V8 and V6 Eurocars, Pick up Trucks, Legends, Formula Firsts and VW Beetles produce action-packed racing with minimal delays between races. The content of the package has been carefully chosen to provide the best and most varied action for the fans. Over five hours of non-stop action forms what Eurocar creator Sonny Howard terms a "theatre of motorsport".

EUROCAR V8    5800cc, 460bhp. The V8 Eurocars are the showcase of Eurocar Racing. The steel space-frame chassis and roll cage, clothed in Kevlar reinforced GRP body panels, forms one of the most awesome racecars in Europe.

The 180mph monster is a mighty challenge for drivers and an unforgettable experience for the fans.

EUROCAR V6    2900cc, 230bhp Ford Mondeo look-alike racing saloons. Like their V8 `big brothers`, the cars are based on a space-frame chassis. The draw for grid positions ensures that no driver is able to dominate and the action is relentless as drivers fight through the field.

PICKUP TRUCKS    The Pickup Trucks series is the purpose-built 200bhp Pickups. A tubular space-frame chassis follows well-proven Eurocar principles and the racers are pushed along by a 2-litre multi-valve twin-cam engine. Weighing in at just 870kg, these dramatic machines place the emphasis firmly on driver ability.

LEGENDS    125bhp Yamaha FJI200 engines power the 500kg Legends, which are 5/8th scale models of 1930s American cars. A five speed sequential gearbox, locked differential and hard compound road tyres ensure spectacular action for fans and a real driving challenge for the racers.
