Unique TVR makes rare appearance at 1999 Yorkshire Spectacular

The World's only right hand drive TVR Trident coupe made a rare appearance at the '99 Yorkshire Motor Festival.

Most outstanding car designs start out life as a sketch on the back of a cigarette packet or table napkin, and the TVR Trident was no exception.

Designed by Englishman Trevor Frost, whose first sketches were drawn on a napkin in the Derby Arms at Treales, Lancashire, the Trident was built by Fissore of Turin. It stole the show when it appeared at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show and was described by the press as the "The Most Beautiful Car In The World?".

One of only 3 Prototypes made, of which 2 were left hand drive and now reside in the USA, the Trident was purchased in a somewhat dilapidated state to say the least.

It has been totally restored in painstaking detail by Don Haldenby of DCH Autocraft, Stirling Moss' mechanic from his racing days and the man responsible for maintaining Stirling's classic cars.

Having the correct small block Ford 289ci V8 engine coupled to a Borg-Warner T10 four speed manual gearbox, the Trident is on the road throughout the year, and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
